ELIZABETH D. RHODES

Ms. Rhodes' practice at Kenney & Markowitz L.L.P. emphasizes general civil litigation, focusing on aviation defense, employment and commercial litigation.
EXPERIENCE
Ms. Rhodes entered the legal field following a successful ten year career as a senior textbook editor in New York City. Prior to joining the firm of Kenney & Markowitz, L.L.P., she developed significant litigation experience at practices focused on aviation law, insurance defense, governmental tort practice, employment and civil rights law, and school construction disputes. Ms. Rhodes is particularly adept at investigating and developing litigation strategies in contested matters, and has developed significant skill in the handling of all aspects of discovery, law and motion practice, and trial preparation for matters in both state and federal courts. She has participated in numerous jury trials and regularly handles depositions, mediations, arbitrations and settlement conferences.

Ms. Rhodes is admitted to practice before all the California Courts, the United States District Court (Northern District) and the courts of the state of Washington.
EDUCATION
Ms. Rhodes obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1987. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree and a Certificate of Environmental Law from Tulane School of Law in 2000.
AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Rhodes is an active member of the State Bar of California, the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Los Angeles Bar Association. She is also a certified CASA volunteer, and a former volunteer teacher with the River School program located in the East Harlem area of New York City.
