David W. Gordon

PRACTICE AREAS
David Gordon specializes in providing advice on insurance coverage matters and risk management, and litigating declaratory relief, inter-carrier and insurance bad faith lawsuits. For 29 years, he has represented policyholders and carriers in a wide range of disputes involving virtually all lines of personal and commercial insurance. He has served as a consultant, mediator, arbitrator and expert witness on numerous matters, and has settled hundreds of cases. He has extensive appellate experience, and is well-versed on the issues unique to insurance disputes.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Gordon is familiar with the issues arising out of CGL, D&O, E&O, commercial property, homeowners, auto, workers’ compensation, specialty lines, reinsurance and self-insurance. The underlying subject matters of insurance-related disputes in which he has been involved include construction defect, IP, sexual misconduct, environmental, securities, general commercial and complex personal injury actions. Mr. Gordon has particular expertise in complex risk management programs and the correlation of self-insured retentions with stop loss excess coverages.

EDUCATION
Mr. Gordon earned his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in 1976, where he was a member of the Thurston Society and the Order of the Coif. He obtained a B.A. from California State University at Chico in 1973.
